Meet Acclaimed Author Reyna Grande at ELAC

A Powerful Voice on Immigration and the American Dream

Join us for an inspiring afternoon with Reyna Grande, renowned author and outspoken voice on the immigrant experience in America. Grande will read excerpts from her critically-acclaimed memoirs and novels, share her powerful personal story, and engage in a Q&A discussion.

About Reyna Grande

Reyna Grande is an award-winning novelist and memoirist whose works give voice to the struggles and resilience of undocumented immigrant families. Her memoirs "The Distance Between Us" and "A Dream Called Home" vividly capture her experience growing up in Mexico and crossing the border as an undocumented child to reunite with her parents in the United States. Grande's novels "Across a Hundred Mountains," "Dancing with Butterflies," and "A Ballad of Love and Glory" further explore themes of immigration, family, identity, and pursuing the American Dream against all odds. Her writing has garnered widespread critical praise and numerous awards. Don't miss this unique opportunity to hear directly from one of the most important Latinx literary voices of our time. This special event is hosted by the ELAC English Department, One Zone, Dream Resource Center, and Rising Scholars program. Admission is free and open to all ELAC students, faculty, staff and community members. Books will be available for purchase and signing by the author after the event.
